COLLABORATION MECHANISMS
Throughout this crisis, collaboration between the
statistical communication and other international
organizations has proven to be very fruitful.
Collaboration helps obtain a complete outlook on the
current situation, to help develop effective strategies
to ensure statistical continuity.
The UNSD created a special section on its webpage
that compiles various reports, guides, interviews and
other official documents from the various NSO’s and
other organizations, that respond to the challenges
and problems generated by the crisis. Resources in
this section are divided in many categories: ensuring
continuity, working remotely, data solutions, open data,
useful links, and sharing experiences.
Furthermore, organized web seminars, or webinars,
have become more popular during this crisis as a way of
sharing experiences between NSO’s and other regional
and/or international organizations such as the IDB,
ECLAC, UNECE and PARIS21. Through these webinars,
NSO’s share which challenges they are facing, which
strategies they have taken to face the pandemic in
the short and medium term, and which agreements
are reached.
